京都野外彫刻展と第４回植物園彫刻小品展の作品搬入と開催 Kyoto Open-Air Sculpture Exhibition & The 4th Exhibition of Small-Scale Sculptures

 12月3日（木）は私と父と母、愛犬と一緒に岡山から2体の出展作品を車に詰めて京都府立植物園に向かいました。植物園の中に入るため車に入園許可証を貼り、温室前に駐車しました。陶板を芝生に置いて上から新しい異形犬作品を設置。私達は姉と温室前で待ち合わせする約束して、設置作業が終わってから姉のアパートでお茶タイムをしました。

　On the 3rd December (Thurs.) me, my dad, mom and our dog drove together from Okayama to Kyoto Botanical Garden to bring two of my pieces to exhibit there. We affixed an admission permit to our car and parked in front of the glasshouse. I placed one of my works, which is my new heteromorphic dog, on a porcelain panel I set on the lawn. We met up with my sister in front of the glasshouse and after finishing the installation, we went to her flat and had some tea. 

                                                     

 

　父と母、愛犬は岡山へ帰り、私は12月5日（土）の野外彫刻展開催日の当番のために姉のアパートで2泊3日泊まりました。

 　Later my dad, mom, and our dog went back to Okayama. Having a duty to watch the exhibition on the opening day on the 5th December (Sat.), I stayed at my sister’s flat for two nights.

　5日（土）には当番に来た他の出展者たちと一緒に作品見回り確認をしました。植物園の中のどこに作品があるのか、探しながら見回りおもしろかったです。

　On the 5th (Sat.), I did the watching duty with other exhibitors, and it was fun to look around, searching for other artists’ works exhibited around the Botanical Garden. 

 

 

 

　　

 

　第4回植物園彫刻小品展は12日（土）からの開催なので、11日（金）に私だけが岡山から京都に向かい、一週間前に姉のアパートに置いてきた2体目の作品を植物園会館一階の展示室に搬入しました。

　The 4th Exhibition of Small-Scale Sculpture was going to start on the 12th (Sat.), so I went to Kyoto by myself on the 11th (Fri.) and fetched the other art piece I asked my sister to store at her flat a week ago, and brought it to the exhibition room at the ground floor of the Botanical Garden Visitor Centre.　　　　　　　　　　

                             

なるべく早くすませて12日（土）は当番の日。

I finished the installation as quickly as possible, and I did another watch duty 

on the 12th (Sat.). 

　彫刻好きの方や彫刻協会の仲間たち、そして私が京都に暮らしている頃の近所の犬友の方が見に来てくれました。

　I was so happy that people who love sculptures, finds from the Sculpture Academy, and one of my pooch pals in Kyoto came to see my piece. 

一日中アトリエで制作／12月の野外彫刻展のお知らせ Working Hard at the Studio/ An Announcement of an Open-Air Sculpture Exhibition in December

 最近は姉の東京の友人からヨウムとリス、ゴールデンレトリバー仔犬のマグカップ、スプーン、お皿を作って欲しいという注文を受けました。毎日、一日中アトリエで制作し完成させました。

 Recently, I took a custom order from my sister’s friend in Tokyo and made mugs, spoons, and dishes with tiny African Grey parrots, chipmunks, and Golden retriever puppies. Finished after days of all day works at the studio. 

 

11月に入ってから本焼成をしました。

ステンレス製スプーンを参考にしながら陶器のスプーンを作ってみました。

I made those ceramic spoons by modelling on stainless steel spoons.

この陶板は12月に京都府立植物園で開催予定の野外彫刻展にも本体作品と一緒に出展します。

I am going to exhibit this porcelain panel with my main pieces at the Open-Air Sculpture Exhibition in Kyoto Botanical Garden scheduled in December.

 

この京都府立植物園での野外彫刻展には初めて参加します。今回は２体の作品を出展することになりました。

This is my very first time joining the Open-Air Sculpture Exhibition at the Kyoto Botanics. I am going to exhibit two of my works this time.

夏のエキチカアーティスト応援プログラム This Summer’s Ekichika Artist Support Program Exhibition

母と父と一緒に岡山駅地下一番街で2回目のエキチカアーティスト応援プログラムのための

作品搬入をしました。

猛暑の中で展示台の設置から始め、作品を展示台に置いて準備が完了しました。

I am exhibiting my pieces for the second time as part of the Ekichika Artist Support Program Exhibition at the Ichiban-gai of Okayama Station, so me, mom and dad brought my works there together.

Under the extreme heart, we started from installing stands and finished with arranging my pieces on them.

 

最近制作したマグカップも展示してみることになりました。

Also decided to exhibit some of the mugs I finished recently.

今回の焼成作品 The Latest Pieces Out from the Kiln

6月と7月は毎日少しずつ作品をためておいて素焼焼成を始めました。

During June and July, I have been making pieces day by day and did the bisque firing.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

血統書つきの犬や他の動物たちを作ってみました。

I tried making some models of several kinds of pedigree dogs and other animals.

 

 

大学時代の先輩から水玉模様のお皿の上に仔犬マルチーズが乗っている作品を作ってほしいと注文を受け、作ってみました。

My university senior colleague commissioned me to make a polka-dotted dish with a tiny Maltese puppy on it, so I tried it.

 

 

 

 

 

焼きたい作品に釉薬をかけて窯に３段に分けて詰めていきました。

焼成中はアトリエの部屋に熱気がこもるため、温度だけをチェックに来ました。

Glazed those pieces I wanted to glost fire and put them on the three racks I positioned in the kiln. During the firing, the Studio got so hot, so I only came to check the temperature for time to time.

 

 

 

翌日、昼には温度は１２０度 に下がったので早速開けてみました。

うまく色がのりました。焼成前に、作品を釉薬のバケツの中に３秒間つけてから取り出すとうまく色が出てきます。

The next day, the temperature came down to 120ºC by the afternoon, so I opened the kiln. 

The colour turned out well. When glazing before firing, I put those pieces into the glaze in a bucket for three seconds. This makes sure to produce the colour I want.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

展示活動ができるように新しい異形犬を２体制作しました。

Two new  Heteromorphous dog statues for future exhibitions.
