5月20日(土）の朝、母と一緒に飛行機に乗って東京へ出発！姉と新宿駅の京王百貨店で会ってランチを食べました。見に行きたいイタリアンガラス専門店に行くため日暮里駅までの電車に乗りました。まだ電車の中にいた時に、父から創型会の通知のお知らせが届いたよとのメッセージが入り、なんと今回の私の出展作品が「選賞」に決定されたことを知りました。信じられません。まさか私が賞を取るとは予想しなかったです。
In the morning of 20th May (Sat), me and my mum took a flight to Tokyo and met up with my sister at Keio Department Store in Shinjuku. We had lunch together there. Afterwards, we took a train bound for Nippori, as I wanted to visit an Italian glass shop there. During the train trip, I received a message from dad and he told me he’d received a letter from Soukei association saying that I received their award this time! Oh my God I couldn’t believe it. I just never expected that I’d receive an award.
21日(日）、22日(月）は東京や神奈川県の友だちが東京都美術館に展示を見に来てくれて、楽しくおしゃべりできました。７体の異形犬の設置が大変良かったです。
On 21st (Sun) and 22nd (Mon), friends from Tokyo and Kanagawa visited the museum to see our exhibition and we had a great time catching up. My seven heteromorphic dogs were nicely displayed.
普段はひたすら作家活動に専念し、時々コミッションを受けて作品を販売するという生活をしているため、自信をなくしそうになる時もありますが、「前に進み続けるのみだよ」と母が言ってくれました。その声を聞いて家族や友だちたちがいつも応援してくれていることを忘れてはいけないと気づきました。
Basically, my life is just to create artworks day by day, and sell commissioned works at times. This makes me a bit unconfident sometimes, but my mum told me that I should just keep on going the path I’ve chosen. I realised with gratitude that my family and friends always have been there to support me.
Gallery108の美術の恩師と先輩たちからは「異形犬の動いた姿を取り入れるといいよ」とアドバイスをしてくれました。この言葉から大きなヒントを得ました。そのため、今回の作品はじっとするものと、暴れる異形犬とに分けました。
My mentor of Gallery108 and senior colleagues told me that they want to see more movements from my heteromorphic dogs. This gave me a great inspiration. Thus, this time, I made some still and quiet dogs, as well as dogs going wild.
賞を取ったことは大きな励みになりました。
